"Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase just take the first step."  Dr Martin Luther King Jr.
Lucas sythentic 20w-50 is the oil I tetsed. I used a 2003 Road King for my test. (Everything was tested the same.) Mr. Lucas said my bike would run cooler with this particular oil. Previously my bike had been running Screaming Eagle SYN 3 20w-50 since day one, so i tested that first. The bike was cooled. I let it idle to a running temperature of about 270F. I then checked the temperature every minute after that. Once the temp reached 283F is stopped the test. The test took a total of 13 minutes. Then I put the Lucas Oil in the bike using the same as procedure as before. doing the same test i found that after 13 minutes the bike was at 273F. I tested the Lucas Oil an additional 2 minutes to let it get closer to the SYN 3 temp. When I stopped the temp was at 285F.
A a friend of Kj's Racing Brent Ryman contacted us with a new product he thought that we would like to try. Brent came across this product while searching the internet. What he found was an oil that could be used for both forks and shocks. This product completely replaces conventional suspension fluid. Intrigued by what he was telling me, we called the manufacturer, Smart Performance Inc., and spoke with Dave Johnson to get further information. After talking for awhile he offered to send us some of his oil to try.

This new product is called 215/Vm2-K5 Vibration Cancellation Liquid. It comes in three different formulas SPI-3, SPI-4, and SPI-5. Each has a slightly different application. Please be sure to follow manufactures recommendation.

For further information you can visit the Smart Performance web site at: www.smartperformanceinc.com

What we found

We tried the SPI-5 in a stock 2007 RM85 per the recommendations given to us by Dave. He told us that we would be the first to try the product in an 85.

This oil looked and felt like a 5 weight oil but it acted like a 10/40 weight. Then we put the oil in per the recommended specifications for the rider and bike. In the past our rider would come back and say that nothing felt different, however, this time the response was different. After watching our rider on the practice track and making a few slight adjustments to the clickers he came back and said "WOW! it feels a lot smoother. This stuff really does what it says it can do. Lets keep using this stuff."

Neither Brent or myself are bike techs, we are just two dads trying to find affordable products out there that work. Not only for our son's bikes but for others in the amateur racing world as well. As we can all a test too, bike up keep can be very expensive, and most of us don't have sponsorships. The sponsors are mom and dad.

THIS IS A PRODUCT WE WILL CONTINUE TO USE AND RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE IN THE RACING COMMUNITY!

I was at the Indiana dealer show when I met Brad Waldron of Kali Protectives. He was talking about his helmet technologies and showing  Kyle how light the helmet was. He also showed us some of his other products. I walked away with an open mind and kept in contact with Brad. We now have one of Brad's helmets. When he asked about the helmet I told him that we had not used it so far, not that Kyle was not wearing the helmet and loving how light and comfortable it was, but he had not yet hit his head. Well recently thats all changed when he was on his 85 doing a wheelie third gear pinned he flipped off the back of the bike hitting the back of his head on the ground. To my surprise, he popped right back up like nothing had happened. When I asked Kyle how his head felt he said that he didn't even feel the impact. However, we can't say the same for the bike. In the same week he crashed again on his pitbike doing fourth gear pinned, but this time he hit head first. He said that he felt it that time but it wasn't too bad. The pitbike's frame, however, broke in 3 places. When I asked Kyle how he thinks his head would've felt in the other helmet he said that it would've hurt really bad. Two bad crashes in one week, no hospitals and no concussions. I am one happy father! I am also glad to have met Mr. Brad Waldron of Kali Protectives.com. I can only hope that the rest of the riders out there find Bard too. So they may also have good stoires to joke and laugh about.
P.S. Brad you the man!

Kyle has taken a number of crashes, however, this last one was the worst. He went head first over the bars hitting his head and breaking his left femur. When he went over the bars he hit his head and the visor broke off. It acted like a skid plate covering up his face from damage. Not to say that the visors break away feature would work like that every time, but no other hemet that I've seen does that at all. Because of this helmet Kyle sustained NO concussion or facial damage. That's all I can say again is Brad you the man!
